1st Estonian Beer Fest in Canada will be held at le Saint-Bock Brasserie Artisanale 1749 St-Denis St. in Montreal, February 23rd to 28th, 2018 to coincide with Estonia’s National Independence Day. A large selection of beers from the Põhjala Brewery in Estonia will be available.

Republic of Estonia celebrates 100 in Ottawa

All Estonians and friends of Estonia are invited to join us in celebrating the Republic of Estonia’s 100th birthday.
At 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 24th, we will raise the Estonian national flag in front of Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue W.
Join us to sing the anthem and mark this significant milestone.
After the flag is hoisted, everyone is invited to the Embassy (260 Dalhousie St, Suite 210) for celebratory refreshments.
 

Enjoyable Jõulupuu 2017

Following the Estonian Church service, Jõulupuu was attended by over 50 people, including 11 children who were very excited to visit with and perform for Jõuluvana. A good time was had by all and no one went home hungry after a generous festive Estonian table.















Christmas Church Service & Jõulupuu

Christmas church service and Christmas gathering is scheduled for Saturday December 16th at the Latvian Church, 83 Main St., Ottawa. The Church Service will take place at 3 p.m. and the Christmas gathering will follow in the church basement at 4:30 p.m.
 
Santa Claus will be arriving from the North with gifts for children and looks forward to hearing poems and songs from children.
Children’s Christmas presents: please register with Ene Tikovt at enet@bell.net or 613-226-3680 by Thursday December 7.
 
For the potluck meal, the Ottawa Estonian Society will provide blood sausages, wieners and drinks. Please bring either a side dish or sweets for dessert

Film Screening

Everyone is invited to a great film screening,  on Saturday June 3rd . The short film “Tühi Ruum” (Empty Space) by the Estonian director Ülo Pikkov is being screened.  Also being shown on the same night are films from other EU countries, including Italy, Poland, Ireland, Sweden and Finland.

Doors will open at 6:30pm, light snacks and refreshments will be served. The short films will start at 7:00pm. Location: Arts Court Theatre and Studio, 2 Daly Avenue.

Admission is free.

The EU Short Film Festival is on for three days, June 2nd – 4th.

Estonian Conductor at NAC
