OES Membership

The dues for membership in the OES are set at $20/individual or family per year. Funds collected are used to subsidize our activities such as the Christmas party, or Jaanipäev, and support other Estonian initiatives in Ottawa of behalf of the Society.

OES photos 1953-2004 on DVD

The Society’s photos have been scanned and have now been placed on a DVD. There are a total of about 2,000 pictures from 1953 to 2004. The DVD can be ordered from Jaan Ranne. Christmas Church Service and Jõulupuu

Erich Järvlepp 1925-2018

Longtime OES member Erich Järvlepp died recently at the age of 93.  He was very active in both the Estonian and Finnish communities in Ottawa. He is survived by his son Jan and other family members.  Newspaper obituary notice can be found here.

Armas Maiste Concert

Our “Grand Old Man of piano’ will be giving a concert:

A great opportunity to hear classical and jazz piano pieces by Armas. The concert will be followed by a reception. We look forward to seeing all music lovers and fans of Armas.

Republic of Estonia celebrates 100 in Ottawa

All Estonians and friends of Estonia are invited to join us in celebrating the Republic of Estonia’s 100th birthday.
At 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 24th, we will raise the Estonian national flag in front of Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue W.
Join us to sing the anthem and mark this significant milestone.
After the flag is hoisted, everyone is invited to the Embassy (260 Dalhousie St, Suite 210) for celebratory refreshments.
