Roddy Ellias and Armas Maiste
Armas Maiste – piano, Roddy Ellias – guitar. Armas Maiste may not be a household name but is truly one of Canada’s living legends of music. He is equally gifted in both jazz and classical music and has influenced and mentored many of Canada’s brightest younger pianists including Toronto’s Dave Restivo and Montreal’s Eric Harding. Maiste started the jazz studies program at McGill University and then moved to Toronto where he taught at Humber College for several years. He has performed all over the world in both classical and jazz genres and has represented Canada at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The reuniting of the musical connection with Ottawa’s Roddy Ellias after several years promises to be a magical musical event not to be missed! Downbeat at 19:30 till 22:30. 5$ entertainment fee for non-diners.
