Christmas Church Service

December 3, 2023

The Ottawa Finnish Church Service is being held Sunday, Dec. 10th at 3pm, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 400 Sparks St.

The Service will be led by the Finnish pastor from Montreal, and will be bilingual in Finnish and English.

The service includes songs by the Ottawa Finnish Singers, led by Margit Viia-Maiste. Also, Jan Järvlepp will be performing for the last time at the Church.

Please NOTE that you need to use the rear entrance to the church, which is at the north west corner of Bay and Queen, where there is a large parking lot.

Easiest is to drive north via Bronson Ave. to its end , continue right on Queen St. for a short block and then turn left into the parking lot.

After the service there is a lovely coffee table including a very fine lottery.

Finnish Church Service

December 8, 2022

As there is no Estonian church service being held in Ottawa this year, the service held by the local Finnish community may be of interest to some Estonians.

It is this coming Sunday, December 11 at 3 pm, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 400 Sparks St. (corner of Queen & Bay St. )

The service, which includes communion, will be in both English and Finnish led by a pastor from Montreal. Jan Järvlepp along with Lisa Taras will be playing Finnish Christmas songs and the Ottawa Finnish Singers will perform 2 songs. The service is followed by a social gathering with a coffee table and great raffle.

Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the church, but a free ticket that can be obtained from the side entrance, must be displayed.
